$40 million condominium at Chicago Spire

If you’re looking to live in the best condominium in Chicago, you’re going to have to pay a lot more money.  The sales office of the Chicago Spire recently opened, offering luxury condominiums in this landmark development at prices up to $40 million.

The $40 million penthouse sits atop the distinctive 150-story building, which will become the tallest residential tower in the United States upon completion.  The tower is being developed by Shelbourne Development, an Ireland-based developer led by Garrett Kelleher.

The future wasn’t always rosy for this development.  The previous developer, The Fordham Company, faced difficulty securing financing for the project amidst concerns that the market couldn’t support so many luxury condominiums.  Several other luxury high-rise projects are currently underway in the city.  The Trump International Hotel and Tower has already opened its doors to hotel guests, and will be delivering the first condominium units within a year.

However, the Chicago Spire survived these difficulties and is no longer just an idea on the drawing board.  The sales office is open, and interested buyers from around the world are already grabbing the first units.  Stop by and visit the sales office at the 18th floor of the NBC Tower.
