January 11, 2010 - Everyone probably already knows that the 16 new screen Kerasotes ShowPlace ICON Theater at the Lofts at Roosevelt Collection opened at the end of December along with the upscale lounge there. A lot of speculation has been made about what retailers will occupy the 300,000 square foot space that is currently empty. The Tribune recently posted an article stating that while no actual store names have been released, a representative of Chicago real estate developer Centrum said that there will be an assortment of clothing, shoe, jewelry, home furnishings, health and beauty stores plus restaurants opening in late 2010 or early 2011.
The article also stated that the east Roosevelt building is already 97% leased and the west building, where construction is ongoing, has leased about 30 of its 174 apartments since November. There will be 342 units at Roosevelt when both buildings are completed and those apartments have one to two bedrooms. Unit finishes include hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, granite kitchen counter tops and carpeted bedrooms.
The leasing rates vary from around $1,500 to $2,500 per month, depending on the apartment size.
With the units at the Lofts at Roosevelt Collection leasing up so fast, you may want to make a decision pretty quick if you think you’d like to live there. If not, there are lots of other Chicago lofts for sale and rent so you do have other options.
