Sales of single-family homes recover in Wood Dale

Sales of single-family homes recovered in Wood Dale during the first quarter, after reaching their lowest point in years during the same period a year ago.  The neighborhood was one of just a few around the Chicago suburbs to see an increase in sales during the quarter.

According to data from the Chicago Association of Realtors, a total of 16 homes were sold in Wood Dale during the first quarter, up from 8 units sold during the same period a year ago.  It was welcome news for homeowners in the area, which had seen sales drop to their lowest point in more than 17 years.

The increase in sales may have come about as a result of the many great deals around the neighborhood.  The average sales price for single-family homes fell by 9 percent leading many to take advantage of prices that haven’t been seen for months in Wood Dale.

The increase in sales helped bring down the number of unsold single-family homes sitting on the market.  It now takes an average of 164 days to find a buyer, down from 169 days a year ago.  The end may be in sight for falling sales and prices for Chicago Homes For Sale in Wood Dale.
