Sales pick up in Dwight

The market for single family homes in Chicago is showing some signs of weakness.  However, some parts of the Chicago region are continuing to see strong sales.

Dwight was one area that saw higher sales during the third quarter.  According to the Chicago Association of Realtors, a total of 17 homes were sold during the quarter, up from 12 homes sold during the same period in 2006.  This is the highest total sales seen during the quarter in 16 years in Dwight.

However, despite the rise in sales in the area, homeowners were facing longer waits during the quarter.  The average turnover time for homes sold during the third quarter rose by 7 days to stand at 141 days.

Prices for homes in Dwight were up during the third quarter.  The average sales price rose by 5 percent from the same period in 2006.  Homes sold for an average of $133,615, making this neighborhood one of the most affordable areas in the city.  If you’re looking for an affordable single family home, Dwight is an excellent choice.
