The Chicago Spire brings in foreign buyers

With most of the 1,200 luxury units costing more than $1 million, the Chicago Spire may be too big to just be sold to well-heeled residents of the Chicagoland region.

The developer, Shelbourne Development, is concentrating much of its sales efforts in countries around the world.  Whether it’s an oil magnate in Russia, or a finance guru in Hong Kong, the Chicago Spire will be targeting the superrich in countries on every continent in the world.

Prices for units in the premier tower in Chicago will start at $750,000 for a studio condominium, and range up to as much as an incredible $40 million for the largest penthouse unit sitting atop the 150-story tower.

The Chicago Spire will benefit from a cheap US dollar, which has dropped to an all time low against many major currencies around the world, including the Euro.  With real estate prices at an all-time high in cities such as London and Moscow, many buyers will be attracted to the relative bargains in Chicago.

The Chicago sales center for the tower is located in the 18th floor of the NBC Tower.  However, sales representatives will be traveling around the world to sell the idea of owning a luxury condo in Chicago to buyers from many backgrounds.
